What is Grow Ontario?

Grow Ontario was formed by residents, farmers, and community advocates who believe Ontario’s agricultural land should be protected, restored, and used for the public good. This land is not just empty space. It is part of Ontario’s story. It can support gardens, teaching farms, local food, youth programs, farmers markets, open space, and a healthier future for our families.Once protected farmland is gone, we may never get it back.

Why Should I Care?

In 1988, California voters approved Proposition 70 to protect parks, wildlife, open space, and agricultural land. San Bernardino County received $20 million to acquire land in the Chino Agricultural Preserve and protect the region’s agricultural heritage. Now, a County plan identifies the 74.44-acre Tevelde Dairy Site 6 property for sale in the current phase of the plan. The concern is simple:Protected agricultural land should not be treated like surplus real estate.Ontario deserves a real plan to preserve, restore, and activate this land for the community.

We created this label as a proud symbol of the Grow Ontario movement—and as a reminder that Ontario’s agricultural heritage is more than history. It represents land, traditions, and public investments that still belong to our community and deserve to be protected for future generations.

Heritage
Crate Label

The Grow Ontario crate label is inspired by the colorful produce labels once used to market Ontario-grown fruits, vegetables, and dairy products across the country. Its vintage design celebrates the oranges, lemons, grapes, peaches, olives, farms, dairies, and growers that helped build Ontario and shape our community’s identity.By bringing the look and spirit of an old Ontario produce crate label back to life, we hope to reconnect residents with this important part of our history and inspire them to help preserve the agricultural lands that remain.
